CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP DUES AND ASSESSMENTS
The Chapter Officers and the Executive Committee, with the concurrence of the Chapter Membership, shall determine the appropriate dues or any special assessments. The rate of dues or the amount of any assessment shall be voted on by the Chapter Membership at any regular Chapter Membership meeting or Special Chapter Membership Meeting. The proposed dues or assessments must pass by a majority vote of eligible Chapter Members in attendance.
Dues and assessments are payable to the Chapter Treasurer or his designee. Dues are to be paid annually and are payable upon joining or on the first of January of each calendar year. Any Regular or Associate Chapter Member who has not paid the annual dues by the first of April of the year for which the dues are owing shall be designated as not in good standing as a Member of the Chapter. Any Regular or Associate Chapter Member who has not paid an approved assessment by the date determined by the Executive Committee for the payment of that assessment shall be designated as not in good standing as a Member of the Chapter.
Borrowers of tools from the Chapter Tool Library which are damaged or lost while in the borrower’s possession shall be assessed the replacement costs to the Chapter, if damaged beyond repair or lost, or the repair costs to the Chapter, if the tool is not damaged beyond repair. The amount of the assessment will be determined by the Tool Committee, subject to the majority approval of the Executive Committee. Such assessments are payable at the time the assessment is made. Any Chapter Member who has not paid an assessment for a damaged tool by the date determined by the Executive Committee for payment of that assessment shall be designated as not in good standing as a Member of the Chapter.
