New EAA Chapter 180 Bylaws

 

The following is the draft of a new set of Bylaws for EAA Chapter 180. The Bylaws currently in effect for the Chapter were written in 1980 and no longer represent the activities and governance of the Chapter as it is today. Please review this draft version of the new Bylaws. They will be proposed to the Membership at the July Regular Membership Meeting, July 27, 2005, for discussion and approval.

 

 

EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION

CHAPTER 180 – MANASOTA

 

BYLAWS

 

ARTICLE ONE

 

NAME

The name of this organization shall be: THE EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION, INC., MANASOTA CHAPTER 180.

ARTICLE TWO

LOCATION

The office for the transaction of business for the Chapter shall be located in Bradenton, Florida, Manatee County, the United States of America.

ARTICLE THREE

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Chapter shall be to promote, foster and aid in the development of experimental aircraft of all kinds and in the restoration of antique, vintage or former military aircraft. The Chapter shall also promote the improvement of the standards and safety of flight, collect and correlate information pertaining to experimental, antique, vintage, former military aircraft and their engines and accessories. The Chapter shall, from time to time, disseminate such information by exhibitions, lectures and otherwise to extend knowledge and appreciation of experimental and sport aviation endeavors.

ARTICLE FOUR

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility for Chapter membership:  Membership in the Chapter is open to any person who has an interest in recreational aviation, subject to the classifications of membership as follows:

Classifications of Chapter membership: There are three (3) types of Chapter Memberships. These include: Regular, Associate and Honorary. The specific details of these Membership Classifications are described in the following paragraphs:

Regular Chapter Membership: A Regular Member shall be any person who pays Chapter dues and is a Member in good standing of Experimental Aircraft Association, Inc. (EAA). A Regular Chapter Member is eligible to hold office in the Chapter and to vote on resolutions before the Chapter.
