June Tool room Report As has been reported previously, the inventory
of the Chapter’s tools is complete and is now updated on the Chapter website.
For most of the tools, there are also links to photographs. Some formerly
hideously rusty tools have been cleaned up and oiled and the tool storage
organization improved. The English Wheel, all 450 lbs. of it, was
moved from John Stevenson’s hangar to the tool room last month. Since rust
has made the tool unusable, the decision was taken to send the most damaged
wheels back to the manufacturer to be ground and polished. They should be
back in a few weeks so the tool, the most valuable single tool the Chapter
owns, will soon be back in operation. Your Tool Committee Chairman intends to
try to make the cowling for his Tiger Moth on it. Wish him luck. At this writing, there are no tools out on
loan. Rob Brooke, Tool Committee Chairman |
